What if it was you?
On a cool fall day, late Saturday afternoon, you feel like going for a mountain bike ride with a friend. You load the bikes on the car and head out to your favorite trails. Everything is going great, you are in good shape, ride a few KM and decide to do one last trail that is a little more difficult before heading back home.
Your friend goes first, you follow a bit behind but suddenly you see him lose control of his mount. His head hits a rock hard. You stop next to him, you notice a bleed in his face just above his left eye and that his helmet is cracked. Your friend is conscious, but complains of headaches, dizziness and a sharp pain in his right leg.
You don’t know what to do.
You are alone, far from the reception, it is getting darker and your cell phone reception is non-existent where you are. A feeling of panic overcomes you. You hesitate to leave your friend alone to seek help. You also realize that you have left your first aid kit at home.
